Participants step in front of a fabric panel displaying a serene farmhouse landscape. An xBox Kinect receiver sits on a chair in front of the panel. Respect the Wind plays as background music from a speaker located behind the panel. The viewer is instructed to move around in front of the receiver to advance the scenes.

A Bluetooth headset is worn to provide sound effects. As the participant elevates their movement, a storm appears and intensifies in magnitude relative to their actions.

Three fans located at the base of the panel work in tandem with the projection to provide an increasing sensation of wind, making the Interactive Storm Project 4D in nature.

The Interactive Storm prototype debuted at Arizona State University Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts Digital Culture Showcase 2015.
